Zoila Muros
September 8, 2026
Zoila Eugenia Muros Cortiñas, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Zoila was born in Cuba and later made a new life in New Jersey before settling in Sunrise, Florida, in her later years. Wherever she lived, she created a home centered on family, tradition, and care for others.
Zoila shared 55 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Aldo R. Muros, whom she married on her 17th birthday. Together, they raised four children: Maria Delgado, Aldo D. Muros, Beatriz Bohrer, and Alexis Wukovits. Her devotion to her husband was steadfast throughout their life together. In his final years, she cared for him with tenderness and dedication, remaining by his side until his last breath twenty years ago. Her love for him endured long after his passing; she mourned him deeply for many years, a reflection of the bond and life they had shared.
She was a loving grandmother to Aimee Ruiz, Adriana Delgado, Arlene Delgado, Mario G. Delgado, Aldo E. Muros, Melissa Benhayon, Lauren Bohrer, Frank Wukovits, and Alexander Wukovits.
She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Amanda Ruiz, Aiden Ruiz, Isabella Benhayon, Gabriella Benhayon, and Annabella Benhayon.
Zoila will be remembered for her strength, generosity, warmth, and deep devotion to her family. She expressed her love through her presence, her care for others, the meals she prepared, and the traditions she preserved. Her home was a gathering place where family and friends were always welcomed and made to feel loved.
Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will carry forward the values she instilled, the traditions she cherished, and the love she gave so freely.
Zoila’s family finds comfort in the many years they were blessed to share with her, in the memories they created together, and in knowing that her love and influence will remain with them for generations to come.
