Frank Steven Oceak

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Frank Steven Oceak on August 30, 2025, at his home in Boca Raton, FL.

Frank was a 1966 graduate of Bergenfield High School in New Jersey. He subsequently spent a few years working security for the Ford Motor Company assembly plant in Mahwayh, NJ.

In 1977, he was sworn in as a police officer with the Englewood Cliffs Police Department and began his training at the Bergen County Police Academy. He had a 28-year career honorably and proudly serving the citizens of Englewood Cliffs as a police lieutenant. He was a member of Bergen County PBA Local 45 and the State of New Jersey Police Honor Legion. He received many police commendations, including saving the life of a choking child.

Frank was always known as a free spirit...an all-around good guy. His willingness to help in any situation and his generous nature were known facts to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He loved the warm climate of Florida...and even had the NJ license plate "95 South"...while patiently waiting in NJ for his retirement. He spent many hours "solving" cases on court TV and volunteering at local animal shelters.

He was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Sophie (Amato) Oceak, and his beloved niece Kristi Ann Masick. He is survived by his sister Julie Ann Masick, brother-in-law Robert Masick, and his niece Patricia Ann Mallory, all of Delray Beach, FL.

An avid animal lover, he is also survived by "Bambi"...his long-time fur baby of 17 years. He rescued Bambi from the pound in Fort Lauderdale and brought her to live in Boca Raton wearing Tiffany pearls.

If I should ever leave you, whom I love, to go along the silvent way....Grieve not nor speak of me with tears but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there...I love you so much. 'Weas aheaven there with you'.

To Those I Love....by Isla Paschal Richardson.
