Norma Kramer (aka Norma Ceil Shein) passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on September 26, 2020, in hospice at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL.
Her children, Jodi, Adam, and Leslie, were with her during the last week of her life, supporting her transition as she declined.
She is survived by her daughter, Jodi Holmes, and son-in-law, Kevin; grandchildren Rachel and Lindsay; her son, Adam Kramer, and daughter-in-law, Kara; grandchildren Shelby and Marni; her daughter, Leslie, and son-in-law, Clayton; grandchildren, Jacob and Sage.
Norma was born in 1931 and raised in the Bronx, spending summers in Fallsburg, NY with frequent family vacations in Florida. Her parents, May and Mayer, emigrated from Russia in the early 1900s, escaping the political turbulence of those times.
She attended Christopher Columbus High School (graduating in1949), participating in the orchestra and the basketball team. Norma then attended the University of Wisconsin for her freshman year, switching to secretarial training school back in NY.
She married at 21, becoming a homemaker and mother at 22. Later in life, she had a few career changes, among which she enjoyed being a realtor for several years.
Norma was a classy lady – had great taste in clothes and jewelry – always making sure she was dressed nicely even to go food shopping. She enjoyed eating out and the occasional movie with friends. She was married twice and spent over 25 years living in Golden Lakes Village in West Palm Beach. There, she was active in volunteering with the local Democratic club, making calls, and helping to set up events.
She enjoyed playing cards weekly with her cronies and shmoozing while hanging out at the pool. Visits with family were always a highlight for her.
