Isabel Margarita (Margot; Maggie) Mahesse Marcano, otherwise known as Mamisabel, was our Dearest Mother & Grandmother who passed at the age of 101 years old.

An angel in disguise; never refusing to help her family and friends.  Always facing any obstacle head on and maintaining her cool confidence for the benefit of others. Mamisabel, we long to take your hand and walk with you daily to the park or sit with you snugly in your red robe in front of the fireplace.

Wherever you are now, please remember our Pact to open your gracious arms to us when it is our time.  It was a blessing and a privilege to be able to care for you when your time had come. We love you very much. We miss your beautiful face and charismatic personality that lit up a room anywhere and at any time.

Our travels together are something that we will always cherish including your patience and wisdom that gave us strength throughout our lives. You are the root of our tree and the foundation of our being, and we will carry you close to our hearts forever.

That we may meet you along our paths every step of the way and that we may hear you once again say, “Mi Querida Marie”, y “Dios Te Bendiga, Marisol”.

Professional Life
Isabel never tired of mentioning her professional accomplishments with much pride in light of her humble beginnings. She was an advanced student who was skipped two grade levels and obtained her license to practice nursing in the government of Puerto Rico at an early age.

Her aptitude in ophthalmology gained her a position as a Supervisory Registered Nurse (RN) at the State Insurance Fund of the Government of Puerto Rico. After moving to the US, Isabel worked at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington DC. Throughout her nursing career, which spanned 39 years of service, Isabel engaged in continuing education and maintained her RN licenses in Puerto Rico, New York, Washington DC, and Florida.
