Erik Scott Johansen

Erik Scott Johansen, 59, of Boca Raton, FL., passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025.

Born on April 19, 1966, in New York, NY, Erik lived a life filled with passion, laughter, and devotion to his family and friends.

Erik was a dedicated sport fishing boat captain whose love for the water defined much of his life. His accomplishments included receiving the 2008 Fantasy Slam Fishing Award, a testament to his skill and commitment to the sport he cherished.

Beyond his professional achievements, Erik found joy in refurbishing boats, mastering the art of barbecue, and spending time at the gun range. He was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, hosting gatherings filled with the aroma of smoked barbecue and the sound of laughter.

He was the loving husband of Leticia Kleintop, with whom he shared four years of marriage. Together, they built a life rich in companionship and devotion.

Erik adored his children: Alex Algarin and his wife Melissa, Armand Algarin and his wife Candie, Anthony Kleintop, and Aaron Kleintop and his wife Allison. He cherished his grandchildren, Arianna and Annabelle Algarin, who brought him endless joy.

Erik was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Evelyn Johansen. He is survived by his beloved sister, Janine Johansen, and his dear Aunt Ginny. His family also included his two golden retrievers, who were constant companions and a source of unconditional love.

Known for his playful, joking nature, Erik had a gift for bringing warmth and humor into every room. His legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew him best—his family, friends, and all who shared in his laughter and love of life.

Erik will be remembered as a devoted husband, a father who adored his children, a grandfather who cherished his grandchildren, and a beloved brother. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those he touched.
