Lafon Evans Hockaday Jr
November 22, 1942 – April 04, 2021
Lafon Evans Hockaday, Jr. 78, of Coconut Creek, Florida entered into eternal rest on Easter Sunday, April 04, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to Lafon E. Hockaday, Sr. and Dorothy Perry on November 22, 1942, in Miami, Florida. He later graduated from the Correctional Academy at Miami Dade Community College in 1987. In 1999 he graduated from Palm Beach Community College as a Police Officer and went on to serve the South Florida area until he retired in 2017.
Apart from his years of service to his community, he will be remembered most for his years as a dedicated husband and father of four. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Jodie M. Hockaday, and his children: Nicole, Derek, Rochelle, and Jarrett Hockaday. As well as his granddaughters Emma Roc and Sofia Agostini, and his sisters Sandy Becker, Judy Hines, and Penny Fowler.
His family will miss him dearly and cherish the loving memories he left behind forever.
A memorial ceremony will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery on April 20, 2021.
A gathering will follow at the family home.
