Mitchell Allan Applebaum, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, at the age of 68.

Born on November 24, 1956, in Boston, Mitchell was a skilled mechanic whose dedication to his craft earned him the 1995 Cadillac Craftsman's League Silver Award. He was known for his laid-back nature and his love of working on cars, boating, jet skiing, and spending quiet evenings watching television.

Mitchell was a loving father to his adored children, Morgan Applebaum-Barnes and Matthew Applebaum, and a cherished grandfather to Madison Applebaum, Dylan Applebaum, and Matthew Applebaum. He found great joy in sharing his passion for trucks and snowmobiles with his son and in spending time with his niece Nicole Bergamo and nephew, Zachary Futris, especially during visits to Florida where they would wash cars together.

He was the beloved brother of Tammy Futris and the devoted son of Deena Frost. Mitchell was a loyal friend, always ready to lend a helping hand, and he leaves behind many fond memories of growing up swimming, enjoying drive-in movies from the back of a station wagon, and relaxing on the beach at Nantasket.

Mitchell’s legacy is one of kindness, simplicity, and a deep love for his family and friends. He will be remembered for his generous spirit and the joy he brought to those around him.
