Oscar Luis Correale, Jr.

Oscar Luis Correale, Jr., passed away from Alzheimer’s disease. 

Oscar was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the only child of Adela Petrona Rapetti and Oscar Luis Correale, Sr. 

He achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Buenos Aires, but chose to pursue a career in dance and choreography in Argentina.

In the early 1980s, Oscar moved to New York City and earned a Master’s degree in Psychology from the City College of New York, and some years later earned a Master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from New York University and launched a career in that profession.

In 1996, Oscar was granted US citizenship.

Oscar is survived by his husband, Steven Coy, whom he met in NYC in 1989. In 2001, they relocated to South Florida, where they married in 2015. 

Oscar retired from his position as Director, Therapeutic Recreation at Ninninger State Veterans’ Home in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Oscar’s remains are at rest at Karme Triyana Dharmachakra, a Buddhist monastery in Woodstock, NY.
