William "Bill" Frederick Vanderbrook Jr.

March 4, 1948 - July 24, 2026

Obituary

William "Bill" Frederick Vanderbrook Jr., aged 78, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at his home in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 4, 1948, he was the son of the late William Frederick Vanderbrook Sr. and Wylma Vanderbrook.

Bill honorably served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his two years of military service, he earned an Associate's degree from Miami Dade Community College. He combined his love for nature with his sharp work ethic to build a successful career as an independent entrepreneur, owning and operating a local lawn maintenance and landscaping business.

An incredibly social and outgoing man, Bill was best known for his quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor. He loved making new friends, lighting up social gatherings, and making people laugh. His life was defined by an innate desire to help those less fortunate. Even after facing his own physical disabilities, Bill routinely ran errands for neighbors who lacked transportation, expecting absolutely nothing in return.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed landscape design, playing pool, and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his son and grandchildren, ensuring his family always laughed whenever he was near.

He is survived by his son, William Frederick Vanderbrook III; his grandchildren, Alivia Vanderbrook and Reid Vanderbrook; his sisters, Ginny Lally and Linda Sabo; and his former wife and mother of his child, Roberta. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Leighton.

Bill leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, generosity, and endless laughter.
